The Language

The unique dialect of Thai language is a dialect of Southern Thailand. It is very different from other dialects in every aspect. It is spoken in a rapid manner and the tones varied, making it difficult for people of other region to understand. This language is also used by Malay people on both sides of the border.

The Culture

Southern Thailand is radically different from the rest of the country in both terrain and culture. Distinctive religion, remarkable architectures, appealing culinary arts and mosques of the Southern region are mainly influenced by the large population of Muslims of Malaysia.

The area was once a part of the Buddhist Srivijaya Empire but later came under the rule of Ayutthaya and then Bangkok. The culture of the South is therefore a blend of Srivijaya, Ayutthaya, as well as Chinese and Malaysian. The mixture of which can be seen through the arts and architecture of this region by combining the elements of cultural heritage is rich in natural resources such as the rubber and coconut plantations, local customs of the people of this region gives visitor an inimitable experience.
