Wat Nong Bua

It is the only Buddhist monastery in the country with a Buddhagaya-style Stupa. It is an extensive structure. Within the Stupa there are several important Buddha images.

Direction

By car: Take Highway No. 212 (Ubon-Amnat Charoen), turn into a side road at the 3-km. marker on the highway, and proceed for 800 meters to the temple
By bus: Take a bus from Mochi 2 station (Northeastern Route), which is available daily
By air: Take a direct daily flight from Bangkok-Ubon Ratchatani, which is available daily
By train: Take a train from Hualumpong station or Bangsue station on Bangkok-Ubon Ratchatani route, which is available daily

The outstanding architecture of rectangular pagoda with a small golden chedi on the top, believed to be inspired by Maha Bhothi Wiharn, Buddha Gaya of India; holy place of birth of the Lord Buddha
The Stupa, deliberately designed with local I-San arts with stand sculptures of garuda with seven-head naga on the four corners of pagoda base
The three-side gable style temple hall, built into with beautifully decorated arc-shape roof to house the Buddha image in an attitude of slumber
