Archeological and Historical Sites
Once part of the Khmer Kingdom, there are many magnificent historical sites that show the richness of Khmer. Its influences are evident throughout the Northeast region such as the Phanom Rung Historical Park in Buri Ram or the Prasat Hin Phimai in Nakorn Ratchasima. The other interesting place to visit is the dinosaur excavation sites and the archeological sites such as the Ban Chiang in Udon Thani, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site where the 5000 years old red painted potters were discovered.
