Situated along the Phetchabun Mountain Range with the pristine scenery, cool weather and a beautiful national park, Loei is called as “the Land of Seas Mountains and the coolest in Siam”. To learn the culture of Loei, visitor can observe the Phi Ta Khon festival at Dan Sai in July, where villagers wear fancy costumes and colorful masks, performing a ritual that is related to the faith in Buddhism and spirit of ancestors. A visit to the local village enables visitor to observe the making of high quality hand-woven cotton products.
Maha Sarakham
Maha Sarakham is a peaceful town situated in the heart of Northeastern Thailand. It is an area covered with rice fields that is colored with its deep-rooted culture. The main attractions are the I-San Cultural and Arts Center, with displays on the history of this region, its various fabrics, handicrafts, agricultural traditions, and Ku Mahathat archaeological site with the remains of over 700 years old. Visitors can also enjoy the beautiful scenery at the popular Kaeng Loengchan.
Mukdahan
Mukdahan is a major gateway to tourism in Laos and Vietnam. It is located at the widest point of the Mekong River opposite to Laos. Next to the river, there are oldest and most revered Buddha image at Wat Si Mongkhon Tai and a site of Indochina market, selling products from both sides of the border. Prehistoric paintings and wild flowers can be found on Phu Pha Thoep National Park where the Mukdahan National Park features striking cliffs and rock formations.
