Famous for its beautiful flower fields, Chaiyaphum is a home of several national parks, scenic waterfalls, wildlife, huge fascinating rock formations, and the pink Krachiao flowers that bloom in May to July. Besides the natural beauty that highlights the province tourism, Chaiyaphum also features deep Buddhist belief such as at Phrang Ku, an ancient Khmer shrine housing a revered Buddha, which is popular among residents as a “healing station”.
Kalasin
With ample of evidence of human settlements through the ruins and traces of Dinosaur’s footprint, Kalasin invites visitor to travel back in time. Dinosaur lovers would definitely enjoy a trip to Phu Kum Khao Dinosaur Excavation Site which is the largest dinosaur museum in Southeast Asia. Muang Fa Daet Song Yang is an ancient city that dates back many centuries and is where the Phra That Ya Khu, a large Stupa decorated with decorative plaster work is located. Visitors can observe the production of the famous Phrae Wa silk at the local village.
Khon Kaen
Khon Kaen is a center of the handmade silk industry with numerous villages producing Mudmee and Phrae Wa designs. It is also used by travelers as a base for exploring other parts of upper I-San. A visit to Khon Kaen National Museum will take visitors to ancient time with art and antiques from historical periods. Visitors can enjoy watching the discovery and extraction of the dinosaur fossils at Phu Wiang National Park, an area that is also famous for its flora, fauna and waterfalls.
