Visit the Northeast Region is not a problem because there are many means of transport are available such as by air, rail, or road. The road to the Northeast is in excellent condition, making a trip by bus or driving on your own very convenient. To move from one province to another can be done by bus or train but renting a car is recommended. Visitors enjoy the beautiful scenery and fascinating way of life in their path.
By Air
Many provinces in the Northeast Region have their own domestic airports, such as Buri Ram, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Phanom, Roi Et, Sakhon Nakhon, Ubon Ratchathani, with an international airport in Udon Thani. Airlines operating daily from Bangkok’s Don Muang and Suvarnabhumi airports. Flights between provinces within the region are also available.
By Rail
Daily train to most provinces in the Northeast starts from Hualamphong station in Bangkok, with two main routes connecting Bangkok with Ubon Ratchathani, and Bangkok with Nong Khai. Both fanned and air-conditioned seats are available to suit everyone’s preference. For air-conditioned overnight ride, the seat can be transformed into bunk bed and food and drink are available in the cafeteria section. Tickets can be purchased at the Hualumphong Station.
