A trip to Chiang Rai would not be considered as complete without seeing the notorious Golden Triangle first hand. This famed border is located where Thailand, Laos and Myanmar meet. The Hall of Opium at the Golden Triangle Park houses various exhibitions to be explored. Built in 1988 with the assistance of United Nations it is a modem edutainment , multimedia museum.

By car: Travel 9 km North of old town Chiang Saen, along the road parallel to the Mekong River to the area where the borders of Thailand, Myammar and Laos converge
