Christian churches are located in Bangkok and in various provinces. Services are mostly in Thai with some of them will be in English, French and German.
There are about 2,000 mosques in Thailand, out of which 100 are in Bangkok. Muslims in Thailand enjoy full state support and are free to teach and practice their religion according to their own principles.
Clothing
Light, cool, loose cotton clothing is best for the tropical climate of Thailand. Sweaters are recommended when visiting the northern mountainous region and national parks during the winter season. Short, sleeveless shirts, tank tops and other beach-style attire are considered inappropriate dress when not actually at the beach or in a resort area. During a visit to a Buddhist temples long pants are required. Remember to remove shoes before entering the temple.
Electricity
Electricity in Thailand is 220 volts AC (50 cycles). Different types of plugs and sockets are in use. An adapter kit should be carried in case travelers bring electrical appliances. Visitors are encouraged to purchase a 110-volt transformer. Most major hotels have these upon request.
Weights & Measures
The metric system used throughout Thailand, and numerals on speedometers, highway markers and speed limits are all in kilometers.
