Saraburi is nowadays sitting on both sides of the main route to the Northeast. The province is famous for its historical sites, holy footprints, scenic beauty and food. From Bangkok, traveling to and around Saraburi could be made in one day. The main attraction is Phra Buddha Bat, which houses Buddha footprints inside a beautiful Mon Dop decorated with thousands of glass pieces. Khao Sam Lan National Park with some beautiful waterfalls is becoming popular for hiking.
Sing Buri
Sing Buri is a small historical town to the north of Bangkok on the west bank of the Chao Phraya River. The major attractions include Wat Sawang Arom a center for Buddha image sculpted with the most complete set of Nang Yai shadow play figures in Thailand. Wat Phra Non Chaksi and Wat Na Phrathat houses Buddha images as well as relics from the Khmer period. The province is famous for its restaurants which are frequently traveled by the visitors.
