Rayong is another delightful resort on Thailand’s eastern coast. Although it is a late developer, it is stretching along 100 km coastline. The province is well known for its pristine beaches, scenic waterfalls with amidst exotic surroundings. Rayong is blessed with an abundance of seafood products such as shrimp paste, fish sauce, dried seafood, and tropical fruits. From May to June the province is awash in succulent pomelo, rambutan, durian and jackfruit. Most of the land is marked by a series of mountains interspersed by flat plains. It is one of the country’s major agricultural and industrial provinces boasting indispensable sea life resources. Ko Samet, renowned for its white sandy beaches, irregular shaped rocks and clear waters is a major attraction among visitors. On the border with Chanthaburi, Khao Chamao-Khao Wong National Park contains two forested mountains, with many waterfalls and caves that connect to Khao Soi Dao Wildlife Sanctuary.
Sa Kaeo
Splitting from Prachin Buri in 1993, Sa Kaeo is an important trading center between Thailand and Cambodia primarily through the border town of Aranyaprathet. In the past, it was a major center of civilization. The archeological sites of Khmer arts and stone inscriptions are the outstanding examples of this civilization. The other major attraction is Pang Sida National Park with lots of bird species, freshwater crocodiles and two beautiful waterfalls. Prasat Khao Nai, is an archaeological site dated back to the Khmer Empire.
