A world heritage site by UNESCO, Ayutthaya is famous for its historic temples which are scattered throughout this once magnificent city and along the encircling rivers. Several of the central ruins are, for example, Wat Phra Si Sanphet, Wat Mongkhon Bophit, Wat Na Phra Meru, Wat Phutthai Sawan, Wat Ratburana, Wat Chai Watthanaram, Wat Phra Mahathat, Wat Phanan Choeng, and Wat Yai Chaimongkhon.

Ayuttha City Island, opposite the Chao Sam Phraya National Museum, Ayutthaya

Direction

By car: Use Phahonyothin Rd (No.1), travel northward, passing Nam Phra-In Gate, then take Highway No. 32, and turn left to Highway No. 309 to Ayutthaya

Activities

Take a bicycle or tricycle tour, a mini-train ride, or an elephant ride around the Park
Take a tour of the outlying ruins along the river by a chartered long-tailed boat
