Captains and crews arriving by boat in Thailand will be allowed to stay in Thailand up to 30 days.
All such persons are expected to leave on the same vessel they arrived on.
The law states that if they decide to leave Thailand by any other method, the permit to stay will automatically be cancelled, and they will be blacklisted from re-entering Thailand.
In order to avoid being blacklisted, captains and crews wishing to leave the country by any method other than the way they arrived must present all relevant documents at Immigration and submit a bond of 20,000 baht.
The deposit will be refunded once the Immigration Department received confirmation that the captain or crewmember has left the country. Immigration officers will be happy to offer guidance on the technicalities of these procedures.
