Zweisimmen - Montreux ( Golden Pass Panoramic )
The world's first panoramic train was put into service between Montreux and
Zweisimmen. It remains the only line in Switzerland offering VIP seating at
the front of the train giving a river's eye view. These ultra-modern trains
are able to give the traveler the unique sensation of being totally at one
with the grandeur of the unfolding landscape.
Leaving Montreux, the line rises above Lake Geneva allowing a full view of
the magnificent landscape of the Lake Region as it spreads out. At Jaman, it
plunges through a tunnel into the mountains, changing valleys and heading
for the world famous resorts of Châteaux d'Oex and Gstaad. The line
attains its culminating point (1,274m) before reaching Zweisimmen, from
where the traveler can continue the trip with the Golden Pass Panoramic
towards Interlaken and Lucerne.
Zweisimmen - Montreux (Golden Pass Classic)
During the 1930' s the "compagnie internationale des wagons-lits"
from Paris, introduced the Golden Mountain Pullman Express between Montreux
and Zweisimmen.
A luxury train in the Orient Express style. A few years later, it
disappeared because of the worldwide economic crisis.
From May 5, 2005, the GoldenPass Classic brought this legendary train back
to life with its brand new Belle Epoque coaches.
The new Belle Epoque coaches with high standard of comfort has ancient
paneling, 1st class seats and a spell from the past, these new coaches are a
greatest attraction.
This new train allow you to live a unique experience in the Orient Express
Spirit.
The train has 1st class Belle Epoque coaches and 2nd class coaches, a wine
tasting celler coach. This train runs every day from Montreux to Chateau
d'Oex, Gstaad and Zweisimmen.
Under the name of Golden Pass Classic, this dream train is an ultimate
experience of royal class and oriental style.
Interlaken - Zweisimmen ( Golden Pass Panoramic )
From Zweisimmen to Interlaken, the GoldenPass Line trains circulate with
first class saloon coachs, fitted with individual pivoting seats. They
guarantee travellers optimum comfort. The GoldenPass Lounge coach, with
leather seat-ing and superior mini-bar service transforms a group trip into
a really convivial moment.
To facilitate the transfer of passengers at Zweisimmen, GoldenPass Line
trains coming from Montreux and Interlaken always stop on the opposite sides
of the same platform.
From Zweisimmen, the GoldenPass Line snakes through the Simme Valley,
birthplace of the famous Swiss Simmental cow breed. Throughout the journey,
travellers will discover traditional Bernese farms in a natural, carefully
preserved environment.
Lucerne - Interlaken (Golden Pass Panoramic )
From Interlaken to Lucerne, the GoldenPass Line trains are made up of
panoramic 1st class cars and cars with large windows. It's on this sector of
the line that dining cars operate, enabling the savours of the dishes served
to blend with the beauty of the landscapes.
From Interlaken, point of departure of numerous excursions in the Jungfrau
region, the trains of the GoldenPass Line pass along the shorelines of five
lakes, in which are reflected the legendary peaks of the Bernese Alps.
