Nepal Cities
Kathmandu : The ‘capital of Nepal’, Kathmandu is a secretive valley, the biggest and most cosmopolitan city, a meeting place of a numerous ethnic groups, and the home town of the Newars. Kathmandu houses several monumental attractions, which are worth seeing.
Patan : Situated 5 km southeast of Kathmandu the city is known as the city of fine arts. The medieval cultural diversity provides for an impressive sightseeing in this city for today's tourist.



Pokhara : Pokhara, a center of adventure, is an enchanting city nestled in a peaceful valley which is the starting point for many of Nepal's most popular trekking and rafting destinations.
Tansen : Situated on the beautiful Srinagar Danda hill, Tansen commands a lovely spectacle of the Himalayas as well as the plains of Terai.
Gorkha : Situated at an attitude of about 1000 m, Gorkha offers endless view of snow-fed mountain, and is an enigmatic historical place to see.
Janakpur : Named after the legendary King Janak, it is the cleanest and the most interesting place among all the towns of Terai.



Nepal Himalayas
NepalThe lofty Himalayas from time immemorial have captivated tourists from all over. Some come to take a glimpse of this majestic snow clad mountain range, some to conquer its challenging heights and some visit to pay obeisance, for they believe it to be the holy abode of Lord Shiva. The perennial snow covering the Himalayas feed the rivers of this region through out the year. Boasting of nine of the world's 14 highest mountain peaks, Nepal is a true Himalayan Kingdom.

The Peaks of the Himalayas in Nepal -
Mount Everest : It is the highest peak in the world and it is every mountaineer's dream to conquer it.
K2 (Austin Godwin) : K2 peak, locally known by the name of “Chogo Ri”, which means "The Great Mountain" is 8,611m high and is a 2nd highest mountain in the world.
Lhotse : It is the fourth highest mountain in the Himalayas where its long east-west crest is located immediately south of Mount Everest.
Makalu : Makalu, the fifth highest mountain peak in the world, is an isolated peak which is located just 14 miles east of Mount Everest and its pyramid like structure with four sharp ridges makes this mountain all the more spectacular.
Cho Oyu : Cho Oyu, which means “The Turquoise Goddess” is the sixth highest mountain in the world and is located a short distance to the west from the world's highest mountain, the Everest.
Dhaulagiri : Dhaulagiri, meaning ‘White Mountain’, is the seventh highest mountain in the world.
Manaslu : Manaslu, the high peak of the Gurkha massif, is the eighth highest mountain in the world.
Annapurna : It is an enormous Himalayan massif and the tenth highest mountain in the world which occupies the central Nepal and has one of the most dominating Himalayan panorama.

Adventure Sports in Nepal
Rock ClimbingRiver rafting : Nepal has earned a reputation as one of the best destinations in the world for white water rafting. Trishuli river, Koshi river, Gandaki river and Marshyangdi river are popular venues for the sport.
Hot Air Ballooning : One hour hot air balloon flight take you to the unique sensation of being suspended between earth and sky drifting slowly over the picturesque Kathmandu valley. The whole view of surrounding mountains is unbelievable.
Bungee Jump : Nepal’s first bungee jumping site is situated 160m over the wild Bhote Kosi river, and located close to the Nepal Tibet border, a three-hour bus ride from Kathmandu. The jump, at 160m, was designed by one of New Zealand’s leading bungee consultants, and is operated by some of the most experienced jump masters in the business.
Mountain Biking : The best way to explore the Kathmandu Valley is on a mountain bike. Mountain biking offers an environmentally sound way of exploring the magnificent country, its landscape and the living heritage.
Rock Climbing : Rock climbing has become a popular sport in Kathmandu, which offers some terrific places for rock climbing. Nagarjun; Balaju, Shivapuri and Budhanilkantha are some of the places where you can try this.

Pilgrimage in Nepal
Lumbini : A place in the South-Western Terai of Nepal, is a sacred place to the millions of Buddhists all over the world, for this is the birth place of Lord Buddha.
Bhaktapur : Situated at an altitude of 1,401 m, Bhaktapur (or Bhadgaon as popularly know as) covers an area of four square miles. This ‘city of devotees’ still retains the medieval charm and visitors to this ancient town are treated myriad wonders of cultural and artistic achievements.
Pashupatinath : A sacred city where Hindus come (to die and) to be cremated. The Hindu religious belief is that, one attains salvation by dying and being cremated in Pashupatinath.
Wildlife in Nepal
The Royal Chitwan National ParkThe Royal Chitwan National Park : Established in 1973, the Royal Chitwan Park provides a great wildlife experience. With its rich flora and fauna, the park is one of the most fascinating tourist destinations in Nepal. Designated as a World Heritage Site in 1984, the park contains the Churiya hills, lakes and flood plains of Rapti, Reu and Narayani Rivers. Approximately 70% of the park vegetation is sal forest. The remaining vegetation types include grassland (20%), riverine forest (7%), and sal with chirpine (3%), the latter occurring at the top of the Churiya range.

Shopping in Nepal
Shopping in Nepal is a very rewarding, exciting and great experience. There are numerous shops on the main street and in the arcades of hotels displaying tempting jewelry, images, clothes and typical Nepalese craft. In some of the small village shops one can find traditional handicraft items and beautiful potteries. Antiques can be taken out of the country with special permission granted by the Department of Archeology only. Traditional craftsmans’ colony in Patan is also famous shopping center for Nepalese handicraft.
