An Introduction : Completed in 1996 the KL tower is a 421m high telecommunications and broadcasting tower in Malaysia. The KL tower is popularly know as Menara Kuala Lumpur, stands at 515 m above sea level. It took 4 consecutive years to build, the tower's gorgeous architectural design and motive replicates rich Islamic Heritage. It has the highest McDonald's in the World. Menara Kuala Lumpur ranks fourth amongst the tallest telecommunications towers. The entrance to the main public area to the tower is at the upper ground level. Nine shops, a fast food restaurant, a mini-theatre presents documentary on the construction of the tower within every 15 minutes and an open-air amphitheatre having 222 seats are festooned in the tower.
The Construction : KL Tower is the perfect example of construction in the year 1991. 50,000 cubic meters of concrete were enormously dispensed for 31 hours to come out with the ultimate product. Today it sets a record in the Malaysian construction industry. Three faces were needed to complete its construction. The Prime Minister officially introduced the KL Tower in front of public on 1 October 1996. Delicate glass-clad domes that sparkle like giant diamonds are used to decorate the main lobby of the upper ground. Its extra ordinary shape at the apex symbolizes the suns rays as well as the representation of man's journey towards perfection.
