Kek Lok Si Temple : Kek Lok Si is an extensive Buddhist temple of Penang, sited up a hillside near the village of Air Itam of Georgetown. The construction of the temple was started in 1890 and supposedly the largest in Malaysia. Several prayer halls, pagodas, bell towers dominate the interiors of the temple Kek Lok Si. Completed in mid-2003 there lays a huge bronze statue of the Goddess of Mercy, Kuan Yin.

Penang Georgetown The State MosqueSnake Temple : Snake temple is the oldest temple of Penang located in south of Georgetown. Its origin dates back to 1850 and snakes being its prime deity. The temple is an example of extensive cultural background of the Chinese population in Penang. The temple is devoted to some de-venomed snakes but it's still advised not to pick them up or touch them. According to local devotees belief the temple's snake population has come there to its own harmony.

Khoo Kongsi : : Khoo the family name of Kongsi means clan (family) house. Khoo Kongsi is one of the impressive clan temples of Malaysia. The temple was built in 1906 by Chinese architects to celebrate the prosperity of the Khoo Clan. The two storey temple Khoo Kongsi has a porch treated as the prayer hall decorated with a museum in the ground floor of the temple.



Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram : Wat Chaiya Mangkalaram is the Buddhist temple and an example of Thai architecture on a 5-acre site. It includes world's third largest lounging Buddha statue measures 33 metres. It’s a unique Buddhist temple with Thai, Myanmarese and Chinese architecture and urns contain the ashes of devotees’ niche behind the statue.

St George's Church : Memorial canopy dedicated to Captain Francis Light the church is one of the oldest landmarks in the city. Named after the patron saint of England the St George's Church was built in 1816. It needs convict labor to come with the final product with the cost of the building 60,000 Spanish dollars. Designed by Captain Robert N. Smith of Madras Engineers the George Church is a major destination of worldwide travelers.

Kapitan Keling Mosque : Founded before 1800, Kapitan Keling Mosque is the largest and the oldest historic mosques in Penang. The Kapitan Keling Mosque was Penang’s first Muslim settler characterizes an ochre yellow facade and a dome-shaped minaret representing the Moorish Islamic influence. This one-storey structure mosque has undergone a lot of renovations over the years. Kapitan Keling (headman), Caudeer Mohudeen is accountable for the name of the mosque.

Acheen Street Mosque : Acheen Street Mosque was founded by Tengku Syed Hussain Al-Aidid in 1808, located in Georgetown, Penang. It’s an octagonal minaret endowed for religious and cultural purposes of Penang. It is a renowned spot of activities for the travelers. Pilgrim brokers, ticketing agencies, bazaar traders, hotel, shops and printing presses are all located within a very close proximity to the mosque.
